Schriebers electrical box, Part 173
"The chances are low for Saab"

An investor group wants to make electric Saab brand. Go to go there with the 9-3. Is this the right way to salvation? Automotive expert Stefan Bratzel has strong doubts.

Professor Stefan Bratzel of the Center of Automotive at the University of Applied Sciences in Bergisch Gladbach has strong doubts about a successful future of the Saab brand. "The chances of making a successful electric car from Saab brand, are rather low," says automotive expert. The Japanese-Chinese holding "national Modern Energy", based in Hong Kong has put the insolvent traditional brand from Sweden for the equivalent of around 200 million euros with the aim Acquired, world electric Saab on the market.

The first model of the Consortium "National Electric Vehicle Sweden" (NEVS) from 2014 to a converted to electric drive his old 9-3. This plan keeps Bratzel a mistake. "The exchange of the drive train alone scares Saab traditionalists out earlier. It would make more sense to launch a new model with its own design language to the market." NEVS is planning to build a 2011 9-3-illustrated study on a new platform as a successor - but this is probably not before 2017. NEVS wants to sell its electric vehicles primarily in China, but also market worldwide. "But this I have no faith," said Bratzel. "They need more than just a global brand like Saab."
